Chest Steel M5 D28243 is the replacement for chest 49-1-82. SNL A-5 & A-6 1941 do not even mention the -82 chest. Later
SNL's mention to use -82 chest until supplies are exhausted. For now here is a photo of the chest. I will at some time make a
page for this chest. I have seen these chests with the non swivel handles ,and a leather coverd handle.

This is some type of Packers slip for the 1917A1 that came in my 1941 SNL A-5
Its from the DEPOT of SUPPLIES U.S. MARINE CORPS. It is dated 4-22-42
